Yamaha has unveiled its new middleweight sport bike Yamaha YZF - R7 globally. The all new R7 will replace the place YZF - R6. The bike is built on the popular Yamaha MT - 07 platform. This new bike will be fit for both track as well as street use. It will get brand new bodywork, and full faired design.
The R7 will feature clip-on handlebars,
rear seats and a seat with height of 835 mm. It will get Yamaha's R-type twin
DRLs and a single pod projector headlight. The colour options on this one are
limited, Raven Black and Team Yamaha Blue. The alloys will also be done in blue
colour. The instrument cluster is a digital console with LCD display.
the new R7 uses the same 689 cc
parallel-twin CP2 engine of the MT-07. The bike is priced at $ 9,000
(around ₹ 6.57 lakh under current exchange rates), and will compete with the
Aprilia RS660 and the Honda CBR650R.
Although, Yamaha India is unlikely to introduce the R7 in India, despite the competition heating up, with Aprilia launching the RS 660 in India, as well as the Tuono 660, and the new Honda CBR650R, Triumph Trident 660 also coming to India.
